La suppression des débris de l’espace inter-électrodes est susceptible d’être toujours partielle. Ainsi, les propriétés électriques du diélectrique dans l’espace inter-électrodes peuvent être différentes de leurs valeurs nominales et peuvent même varier avec le temps. La distance inter-électrodes, appelée aussi l’interstice d’étincelle, est le résultat des algorithmes de contrôle de la machine spécifique utilisée. Le contrôle d’une telle distance est logiquement central dans ce processus. De plus, tout le courant entre le diélectrique n’est pas du type idéal : l’interstice d’étincelle peut être court-circuité par les débris. Cela est indésirable car un court-circuit contribue à l’élimination du matériau de manière différente de la situation idéale.

KABAAL

Avec son solo “KABAAL” le batteur Jakob Warmenbol cherche inlassablement à repousser les limites de sa batterie en y intégrant des micros de contact, un module de batterie électronique et un sampler. Tout en gardant l’élément de surprise comme principal moteur de ses compositions improvisées instantanées, les larsens et samples tordus l’entrainent à la découverte d’un terrain de jeu (a)tonal, désorientant, dyonisiaque et frénétique. Ces déviations sonores imprévisibles invitent à se perdre ensemble au bord de la faille, secoués dans tous les sens, dans un paysage abstrait de rythmes industriels aux ombres bruitistes folkloriques.

Nouveau rendez-vous régulier à Marseille, hébergé par La Fabulerie.

Au programme, différents créateurs sonores jouent live et expliquent leur set à travers des échanges avec le public. Analyses, expérimentations, jeu … dans un environnement ouvert et convivial.

Pourquoi ce rendez-vous ? On est souvent fasciné pendant un live par la diversité des sons que l’on entend, et contrairement aux instruments acoustiques, complètement paumé sur comment les gestes du musicien peuvent engendrer ces sons. Alors pourquoi pas démystifier cette situation, sans toutefois altérer notre émerveillement et nos émotions.

L’Immédiatisme comme processus de feedback sensoriel et la réponse contrôlée par l’input.

Intervenir c’est susciter de manière conditionnée. Le résultat de l’intervention est déterminé par le processus d’assimilation des fréquences (condition) générées par l’intervenant. L’intérêt est de susciter de manière complexe, à travers un processus organique, atteignant les fréquences de base et non structurelles ou systématisées, idéalisés, dans un point cérébral où l’organique teste le métaphysique et dans cette perspective le rétrécit jusqu’à ce que la matière brute apparaisse. L’émergence oblique de cette matière brute indique l’occurrence de l’intervention complexe, et surtout, sa nature.

Une gorgée de lait dans une brasserie marseillaise correspond à un claquement de l’écorce carbonique d’un arbre synthétique : l’humanisation de la forme correspond toujours à une synthétisation de l’humanité (relation méta-matière et antiphysique).

1 – Le contenu carbonique est admis dans le cadre de la fluidité du concept synthétique dans la structure de l’écorce, et l’arbre entier sera la structure choisie pour évoluer dans sa qualité synthétique.

2 – La forme synthétique est transportée d’un lieu à l’autre par la locomotive (les retransmetteurs) qui n’est plus qu’une accumulation de la puissance de fabrication en vue de la préservation d’un certain contenu synthétique (la gorgée de lait est un film hors du temps transformé en extension sérielle d’un événement reproduit).

3 – La prolifération de l’occurrence reproductive (masses & contrôle pornographique) effectue une sédimentation carbonique dans le tissu organique, formant des greffes de capacité synthétique et annulant les impulsions organiques : l’organique est limité à la synthèse.

IV.

La création complexe a lieu à la périphérie de la limite carbonique. Elle conscientise le métaphysique pour qu’il renoue avec le physique qui a été carbonisé par le feu (arme psycho-formelle) de la sangsue synthétique.

Dans un tissu carbonique, la création est complexe lorsqu’on pisse dans la synthèse.

CLASSWAR KARAOKE

Coordonnée par Adrian Beentjes (usa-uk), Anthony Donovan (uk) et Jaan Patterson (de), Classwar Karaoke est une revue trimestrielle composée de musique, de films, d’images et d’écrits. La somme des participants qui compose l’entité Classwar Karaoke peut être considérée comme un collectif.

‘0001 survey’ est sorti en Mai 2008. Chaque revue est unique, d’une qualité soignée regroupant entre 50 et 100 artistes internationaux pour plusieurs heures de contenu. Chaque périodique est différent – en termes de personnalités, en nombre de participants, et selon les thèmes. Chaque trimestre, un appel à participation est proposé au collectif dont le réseau s’étend progressivement. Le projet est ouvert à raison que les artistes impliqués travaillent intelligemment dans un contexte de musique expérimentale sans chercher à utiliser le projet comme « une autre vitrine en ligne ».

Les ambitions de Classwar Karaoke ne s’arrêtent pas aux sorties en ligne périodiques qui seront produites physiquement mais, comme ce fut le cas pour le ‘0005 survey’ en showcase, le collectif souhaite se rencontrer et organiser des projets live : concerts, émissions de radio…

« Really, The Death Sound started in 2007 when I was beginning to explore early industrial music. I had gotten a bug to look into older industrial music while I was going through a Numb kick. I am someone who likes to « go back to the beginning » of things, so to speak, study origins, so the logical starting place was Throbbing Gristle. I was fascinated by it; it was different, challenging, and like nothing you’d really hear called « industrial » today. I’d remembered my friend Matt from college did sequencer programing on a freeware program called Jeskola buzz. I called him up with the proposition of starting a project. The Death Sound was born. Our first recording was just an experiment with using sound editing software, chopping up samples. The result was « A Series of Tubular Bells », which was a joke track that we threw up on myspace until we had time to do anything better. That is, until Cosey Fanni Tuti sent us a message telling us she enjoyed our sound. Late 2007, we had a flurry of recording and put together the 5 or 6 track (depending on which version) Series of Tubular Bells EP, mostly Matt doing instrumentation and myself doing arrangement, composition and some vocals. By 2008, we had been making connections all over the world, and our sound was growing more diverse from the different influences. While we had discussed possibility of touring europe, plans never fully materialized (and we weren’t ready for live performances anyway). While we were making a small name for ourselves in the European scene, very few local shows developed and the reception was lukewarm. Summer of 2008 I arranged and recorded « Loneliness on the Psychic Seas » largely by myself, but building on Matt’s instrumentation. Around this time, I was also doing a number of collaborations with artists from around the world (OLoF NiNe, Tarsus, Arte Sacra Atelier, and several with both Finger Painted Death and Glitchgore) under the name The Death Sound, though these were largely a solo affair. Late summer, we finally scrounged some mediocre gigs to try to promote a compilation of odds and ends « Nothing But a Nightmare » and our band’s one year birthday. This would lead to the retrospective album TDS: « Year One », a compilation of our first two EPs and the full live set from our « birthday » gig, on OFF/BRUMA, a Portugese net label. TDS: « Year One » was intended to be a milestone from which we would launch ourselves forward, and still remains in heavy rotation on underground internet radio, however nothing is as we intend. We played « Easy Street » not long after our birthday show, which proved to be our most successful show. The live album from that night would be the Death Sound’s last full length release. We had intended to begin work on a follow up to Year One, which was to be titled « All Part of Nature’s Plan », however in early 2009 only a few tracks were finished. The birth of Matt’s daughter was a happy occasion, but it meant that he no longer had the time to devote to musical projects that he once did. I found myself playing for the Kill Crazies, a punk band spun off of the band we had played our last show with, which is a story unto itself. Essentially, the Death Sound went on Hiatus. The brief re-emergence of the Death Sound last year had a lot to do with Dakuu, Stillborn Diz, Fuck Your Scene Vol 2, and the breakup of Medicide. I discovered and absolutely fell in love with Stillborn Diz, who ended up on Fuck Your Scene Vol 2. Through Stillborn Diz, I’d heard of a band called 13th Moon; a member of 13th Moon had put out a free Japanese goth compilation called « Plan X From the Eastern Dark ». I checked it out because it had Darkside Mirrors on it (whom I adore). Masahide from Dakuu, a band on that compilation, saw I was familiar with his music from Plan X, and checked out what I was doing with FYS and The Death Sound. -Masahide-san and I talked about the possibility of putting something out on Retro Virus Records. In the end, we decided to include the Death Sound, Stillborn Diz, and Finger Painted Death. Very long and complicated, I know! This gave Matt and I the perfect excuse and opportunity to dust off what we had been working on before our hiatus. While « All Part of Nature’s Plan » will almost certainly never see the light of day, the 5 tracks on Mundus Patet are representative of what the album might have been like, as we were moving away from our harsher sounds to a more moody and melodic style. »

Le Placard Headphone Festival

August 26st Last_Generale, Sèvres, France – the return of the 72 hour Paris open slot. It will also be the last event in La Generale en Manufacture. Le Placard started in 1998 in Paris, France. At that time finding venues for alternative music was difficult, and police raids on unlicensed events were frequent. So instead Erik Minkkinen organised a headphone party in his small apartment, called ‘placard’ after the French word for ‘cupboard’.

Since then this concept has grown to an international streaming festival, with tens of cities providing listening rooms for local and remote performances. Placard has formed part of the Mutek, Transmediale, Garage and Pixelache festivals. The event in Paris has itself grown into an institution, running for 72 hours straight where the audience sleep with their headphones on, still listening.

David Fenech et Jac Berrocal (fr)

DAVID FENECH est un musicien parisien, guitariste, chanteur, improvisateur. Il a enregistré et joué avec des musiciens aussi divers que Felix Kubin, Jad Fair, Tom Cora, Andrea Parkins, Steve Arguelles, James Plotkin, Gino Robair, Ramona Cordova, Shugo Tokumaru, Ghedalia Tazartes, Klimperei, Ergo Phizmiz et de nombreux autres… Récemment, il a sorti l’album Polochon Battle (sur le label inPolysons), travaillé à l’IRCAM, enregistré une pièce de musique concrète à l’INA GRM, composé des musiques pour le théatre et pour le cinéma, construit de petits robots musicaux, enregistré un horspiel pour Radio France… Récemment, il a organisé une série d’enregistrements publics avec des invités aussi divers que Rhys Chatham, Bérangère Maximin, Claude Parle, Sébastien Roux, Dominique Grimaud. Il prépare en ce moment son troisième album solo (une longue pièce de 45mn) et un nouvel album devrait également sortir courant 2011 en trio avec JacBerrocal et Ghédalia Tazartès.

JAC BERROCAL est un trompettiste, chanteur et performeur incontournable, à la croisée du free jazz, du punk et de la poésie sonore. Son style à fleur de peau, à la fois tendre et violent est inimitable et imprévisible. Il a joué avec des musiciens exceptionnels… la liste est longue. Parmis eux : Pascal Comelade, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Sunny Murray, Jacques Thollot, James Chance, Nurse With Wound, Daunik Lazro, Chris Cutler, Yvette Horner, Messagero Killer Boy (le groupe du cinéaste F.J Ossang), Aki Onda, Pierre Bastien, Lol Coxhill, Jeanne Moreau… Récemment, on l’a entendu sur le dernier disque de Christophe (« aimer ce que nous sommes », avec Isabelle Adjani) ou lors du dernier festival Sonic Protest avec Catalogue (en compagnie de Jean François Pauvros et Gilbert Altman). Il est aussi connu pour le fameux morceau « Rock and Roll Station » enregistré en compagnie du légendaire Vince Taylor. Son nouvel album solo sortira en 2011.

Bernardo Devlin (pt)

BERNARDO DEVLIN est un compositeur, chanteur et un performeur portugais. Il a fondé le groupe Osso Exótico avec David Maranha, André Maranha et  António Forte, avec qui il a enregistré les deux premiers albums. Il devient un auteur acclamé avec quatre albums solo édités qualifiés de véritables cristaux noirs et enchantés d’une orchestration déstabilisante, instable et acérée. Sa voix a été décrite comme étant quelque part entre le romantisme sombre de Scott Walker et le ton symphonique de Peter Hammill. Récemment il a sorti l’album Ágio en solo, et a joué et enregistré avec Andrew Poppy et Wilson Tsang entre autres. Il développe aussi une intense activité autour de la musique pour le théâtre et pour le cinéma. Une nouvelle sortie est prévue pour cette année.

KHEOSTATIC is an improvised play with a total duration of about three hours trying in an encyclopaedic way to make a sound transcription of several elements which constitute the human reality, in its language, intellectuality and action. In the first part, now published, the human perception was condensed in sound signals of the avant-garde, concrete and electroacoustic, through the recourse to an immediate and proto-metaphysical language, in narrow correlation with the possible conceptuality of the matter and its relations with the spirit. The three KHEOSTATIC‘s parts will be live recorded at La Société de Curiosités, Paris.
